Last week, Pan Galactic's Chief Product Officer, Jamie Del Grosso, unveiled our new user interface, GalacticOS GUI V2. This enhanced user experience delivers a more seamless interaction and highlights upcoming features of our space data operating system. Notable additions include the Sandbox, allowing developers to create programmes and applications for operators, and expanded developer tools to facilitate bespoke solutions for clients.
Our product team's key focus whilst developing the new user experience was to address the emerging needs of the Space 3.0 ecosystem and establish design conventions for the future space economy.
"The current Space 2.0 era, as described by Seraphim Space, has largely embraced a utilitarian approach to design and user experience. As we transition to the next era of the emerging space economy, our product team sought to envision a system tailored for the 3.0 era," said Jamie Del Grosso, CPO at Pan Galactic. "With space technology becoming more widespread and accessible, we anticipate a broader range of users interacting with these systems. Our aim was to create a user experience that feels more intuitive to navigate, encouraging others to consider not only functionality but also how to enhance the user's overall interaction with these systems."
Fostering a community and robust toolset for developers has always been a priority for our team, enabling them to create bespoke solutions for their clients using our products.
Del Grosso elaborated, "In this latest iteration of the GUI, we aimed to streamline the experience for developers building upon our OS. This involved reimagining the presentation of the Pan Galactic Sandbox, allowing developers to create applications for space industry operators, fellow developers, or as an entry point for those new to the sector." He added, "We also wanted to simplify the development of Quantum Secure solutions within GalacticOS. This led to an improved toolset, including a built-in IDE and enhanced visibility of nodes, systems, and file structures for developers."
The launch of GalacticOS GUI V2 extends beyond aesthetics, introducing a suite of new tools to the operating system. Alongside enhanced developer resources, our team has integrated community and collaboration features into the OS.
"We are fortunate to have an active community of interested parties and developers engaging with our products, even at this early stage in our product cycle. We sought to leverage this enthusiasm within our products, enabling anyone using our OS to engage with our vibrant community, be it developers collaborating or users seeking project guidance," Del Grosso explained.
"As part of the GUI V2 launch, we are also introducing additional community tools accessible directly via the OS or externally through the internet."
This latest announcement from our product team represents not only a significant advancement in our product cycle but also underscores our commitment to facilitating the emerging space economy. As the space industry expands, a diverse range of systems will be required by an increasingly varied user base. Pan Galactic is dedicated to staying at the forefront of innovation, supporting the industry's transition to Space 3.0 and beyond.
